As I think back to my childhood Holiday memories, one place comes to mind, "nanas house". Growing up with such a big family we always got together at my nanas house for the holidays. From first cousins, second cousins, aunts, uncles and maybe a few family friends her house was full of lots of laughs and love.
We could always look forward to my aunts famous macaroni and cheese and my mothers delicious sweet potato pies, lemon meringue pie and my favorite German chocolate cake.
Sitting in the kitchen making jokes and just having a good time with each other was always fun. One thing you could always count on was leaving with at least two plates of food and that is and understatement.
Receiving gifts as a child was always fun, but honestly I cannot think of anything that stood out to me. Being with my family at my nanas house is something that I will always cherish and hold dear to my heart. What are some of your childhood holiday memories that stand out to you, are you creating those same memories for your family now?
